This is the official website of Arnside Parish Council, and is a notice-board site for all Parish Council matters.
We have incorporated the full text of the Arnside Parish Plan
, produced by our community, and grant-aided by both the Countryside Agency and the Cumbria Rural Development Programme. The plan contains some very important recommendations for the future of our village, and members of the Parish Council will hope to be able to facilitate many of the matters referred to.
There is also included the current copy of the Arnside Broadsheet
, printed copies of which are distributed monthly to every household within the area.A short statement From Arnside Parish Council.
Despite rumours in the village it should be made absolutely clear there is no threat to the future of the playing field. The HER listing had NO impact on the field and APC had been been in correspondence with Mrs Morris before the listing took place. It is a matter of regret that any statements made by or on behalf of the parish council in the past, could have given the impression that this listing posed any danger to the field.
The council and its officers also wish to dissociate themselves from any Facebook postings that appeared and any subsequent misinformation surrounding this issue.
We would also like to point out that the Freedom of Information request from Mrs Morris was denied therefore there was no cost to the Parish Council or the residents of Arnside.
Due to serious discord in the village and at the meeting of 11th Feb, mostly the result of rumour and misinformation, the council would like it to be known that we regret that mistakes have been made in the past. We apologise to Mrs Wendy Morris and we are sorry that this happened and for the hurt she has suffered as a result.
We want to establish a better relationship for the future. We will invite a representative from each sports club to sit down with us to discuss and agree how we move forward on the issues that have been aired in public and the press.
What is most important now is that a line is drawn and we move forward together and use our energies to address the matters that most concern the residents of Arnside.
This statement has been prepared with the kind help of Mr David Claxton, Chief officer of CALC (Cumbria Association of Local Councils) who chaired the mediation and fully endorses this statement.

This gives at least three clear days notice, and the agenda for any forthcoming meeting of the Parish Council, and at least seven clear days notice of the Annual Parish Meeting. It is also used to display the unconfirmed Minutes of the previous meeting.
The same notices should appear on this Web Site.
An additional noticeboard is fixed to the front wall of the Educational Institute, Church Hill, Arnside. This is intended to display other statutory notices (eg notices of accounts and audit), plus useful contact information, such as details for registration of Births, Marriages and Deaths.Arnside Broadsheet
